We're thrilled to announce that StormyCloud has officially joined the I2P family. After years of supporting I2P from the outside — running infrastructure, operating outproxies, and funding reseed servers — we've formalized our commitment to the network we've believed in from the beginning.
This partnership represents a shared commitment to privacy, freedom, and decentralized internet infrastructure. For us, it's a natural next step. For I2P, it brings additional resources, organizational structure, and a dedicated team to help the project grow.
Two New Board Members
As part of this partnership, we're proud to welcome two prominent figures to StormyCloud's Board of Directors.
Lance James
Lance is the original founder of the Invisible IRC Project (IIP), which evolved into the Invisible Internet Project (I2P) — the network we all rely on today. A recognized innovator in cybersecurity and privacy, Lance has spent over two decades advancing secure communication systems. His expertise in networking, cryptography, and program development will be invaluable as we deepen our work in this space.
eyedeekay (idk)
A veteran I2P developer known for substantial contributions to network stability and innovation, eyedeekay has been one of the lead developers and maintainers within the Invisible Internet Project since 2019. He has played a key role in the development and maintenance of many of I2P's core applications, and his deep technical knowledge makes him an essential voice on our board.
Financial Support for I2P
Through this partnership, StormyCloud now serves as a vehicle for community support of I2P's development. We accept donations through multiple channels including cryptocurrency, credit and debit cards, and bank transfers.
Key commitments we're making:
- All funds directed toward I2P development, operations, and community support
- Tax-deductible donations for U.S. contributors — as a registered 501(c)(3), your support goes further
- Support for software development, infrastructure maintenance, research, and outreach
- Full transparency in how funds are allocated
We believe in building something sustainable. I2P is critical infrastructure for millions of people around the world who depend on it for privacy and access to information. That infrastructure deserves stable, accountable funding.
What Stays the Same
StormyCloud will continue operating all of our existing services — outproxies, reseed servers, public DNS, and everything else we've built. Our mission remains unchanged: defending internet access as a universal human right.
What changes is the depth of our connection to I2P and our ability to direct meaningful resources toward its development. I2P's philosophy of independence remains central — StormyCloud provides resources and organizational structure, not direction or control over the project's technical roadmap.
